Paris in the fall

May 30, 2010

So many things that I want to do in Paris… cafes, macaroons, visiting friends, MGMT…

Doubting one weekend will be long enough.

Just checked out the top 20 in Spain this week. If it is anything like the top 20 in America, it is probably more accurately described as the 20 most over-played radio songs in the country…but I figured it would be worth a look. Lady Gaga, Blackeyed Peas, David Guetta and Ke$ha were on the charts as well as some artists I had never heard of. I’m realllllllllyyyyy looking forward to being exposed to new music while abroad but here is a song that I heard has been blowing up all over Europe this year: Stereo Love

The House DJs at the clubs in Barcelona are supposed to be insane. Can’t Wait!

I am heading up to Manhattan tomorrow and of course one thing in particular has been on my mind more than anything- shopping for Barcelona. Why do (most) girls always assume that a new place to call home = a whole new wardrobe? Maybe because it is so much fun redefining ourselves…or maybe we want to spice things up when we’re in a new place?! Either way, I started to do a little research on the shopping scene in my soon-to-be location and calle de Riera Baixa popped up.

Vintage/Second hand shops back to back to back. Boy, do I need to save up this summer…

sounds good to me.

Beach all day, dance all night? Yep.

Off the coast of Barcelona lies a little island where anything goes – Ibiza. 60 beaches and some of the wildest clubs on earth…sounds about right.

skate in peace

May 12, 2010

Unlike any of the cities I have ever lived in, skateboarding on public property is LEGAL in Barcelona. I met a guy last week that is really getting into skate photography and it inspired me to take a peek at some of the places I should check out during my stay. The Museum for Contemporary Art (MACBA) is the most well known spot in the city but Universitat plaza, Forum, Sants Estacio, and Paral-lel look like they are worth checking out too. Although I am definitely not planning on trying to skate, I will for sure bring my camera along!

Hola! I am super excited that I have started this blog because that means the countdown has BEGUN for my semester abroad! Thanks to my great room mate and friend, I am hopefully going to get the hang of this thing pretty quickly…Until then, here is a quick preview of some of the things I am looking forward to seeing while in Barcelona.
